In October 1990, a small group of artists got together and proposed an idea for an art show at the historic Burwell-Morgan Mill in the picturesque village of Millwood, Virginia These artists worked tirelessly to produce what was to become the very first Art at the Mill show. Over time, Art at the Mill has grown from a three-day show into one of the most recognized art shows in the region. Though Art at the Mill has grown, the show’s basic principles remain the same: to bring together artists and patrons, and promote the artistic talent of the region. The art show is run by the Clarke County Historical Association (CCHA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in Berryville, Virginia. CCHA owns and operates the historic Burwell-Morgan Mill, which hosts the art show each year. The mill was built in the 1700s and still runs today! Art at the Mill helps to operate and preserve this historic treasure.
